THAILAND: Digital Edge (Singapore) Holdings Pte Ltd and B.Grimm Power Public Company Ltd have officially broken ground on their first joint data centre campus in Thailand on Wednesday (03 Sept).
The project marks the start of construction for a 100-megawatt (MW) flagship facility in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), as part of a US\$1 billion (RM4.7 billion) investment plan announced in June 2025 to develop hyperscale and AI-ready data centres nationwide.
Once completed, the Chonburi campus will provide high-density colocation, advanced interconnectivity and hybrid cloud solutions, catering to hyperscalers, AI workloads and enterprises undergoing digital transformation.
Construction is being accelerated to meet market demand, with the first phase scheduled to be ready-for-service (RFS) by the fourth quarter of 2026. The facility will be powered by B.Grimm Power’s renewable energy portfolio and designed to achieve industry-leading energy efficiency.
Digital Edge chief executive officer John Freeman said the Chonburi campus represents a pivotal milestone for the company in Southeast Asia.
“Together with B.Grimm Power, we are delivering AI-ready, sustainable infrastructure at a scale and speed that matches the ambitions of our customers and the needs of the region,” he said in a statement today.
B.Grimm Power group president Dr Harald Link said the partnership combines clean energy and advanced technology to support Thailand’s digital future.
“This facility will not only serve global tech leaders but also strengthen the country’s position as a leading digital hub in Southeast Asia,” he added.
